Will There Be A 'Desperate Housewives' Movie?

With Desperate Housewives signing off this May, fans have been wondering if this will truly be the last time we ever see Susan, Gabby, Lynette, Bree and the rest of Wisteria's wonderfully campy clan.

At today's ABC TCA panel, creator Marc Cherry addressed this inquiry head-on saying, "After eight years, I think we're done," adding that it feels like the characters have all been fully mined for material and that unlike Sex and the City 2, "I'm never sending these gals to Dubai."

As for what the final season has in store, spoilers were in short supply, but Cherry did reveal that the ending he came up with at the outset of season one is still how the series will end. "The last act, which I've had in my head for seven and a half years, is absolutely what we're going to do," Cherry said, who added that he will cameo in the series finale, a la Alfred Hitchcock

Desperate Housewives airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on ABC.
