The Tudors and Immortals star Henry Cavill takes on the title role in the 2013 film that promises to be a darker, more psychological take on the Superman saga as he takes on Kryptonian villains General Zod (Michael Shannon) and Faora (Antje Traue).

Looking like Superman meets Deadliest Catch, the trailer shows a bearded Clark Kent working the nets and hitchhiking a lonely Pacific Northwest highway as a narrative voice (Kevin Costner, who plays Superman's adoptive father Jonathan Kent) says, "You're not just anyone. One day you're going to have to make a choice. You have to decide what kind of man you want to grow up to be. Whoever that man is, good character or bad, is going to change the world."

Then we get to see him take flight, with a sonic boom to boot. Pretty cool.

Produced by The Dark Knight trilogy director Christopher Nolan and directed by Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen), the Man of Steel trailer premiered before showings of The Dark Knight Rises. Two versions were released, one featuring narration by Costner, and the other one featuring alternate narration by Supe's father, Jor-El, played by Russell Crowe.

In theaters June 14, 2013, Man of Steel also stars Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Daily Planet editor-in-chief Perry White and Diane Lane as Martha Kent.
