Streep & Jones 'Hope' to Avoid a Certain Question

Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones give love a second chance with the help of Steve Carell in Hope Springs, in theaters Friday, and in talking about the new romantic comedy, Streep and Jones got a giggle out of the parade of interviewers, including ET, that have asked them for their relationship advice.

"You get no advice; abandon all hope," jokes Tommy Lee, while Meryl laughs, "You all come in and everybody's asking -- clearly there's a need." She then turns to her co-star: "We have to get together at lunch and make some recommendations." Tommy Lee replies, "And think up something really, really twisted. See how many lives we can wreck by giving them perfectly wrong advice."

Hope Springs stars Streep and Jones as Kay and Arnold, a devoted couple who have lost the spark in their marriage after decades together. Hoping to spice things up and reconnect with her husband, Kay seeks out a renowned couple's specialist (played by Carell) in the small town of Great Hope Springs for a week of marriage therapy. Can they re-ignite the spark that caused them to fall for each other in the first place?

Hope Springs was directed by David Frankel (Marley and Me, The Devil Wears Prada).
