Shailene Woodley Cut From 'Spider-Man 2'

Due to a shift in focus, Shailene Woodley's Mary Jane character has been cut from Sony's The Amazing Spider-Man 2, a source confirms to ET.
This decision comes after the actress has already shot a handful of scenes for the upcoming action film. The movie is now said to deal more with the relationship between Peter (played by Andrew Garfield) and Gwen (played by Emma Stone).
The Mary Jane storyline will be pushed to the third Amazing Spider-Man due out in 2016, but it is unclear if they will incorporate the scenes that Shailene has already shot.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters May 2, 2014.
