'Pacific Rim' Tome Teases Look at New Monsters
Guillermo del Toro's highly anticipated Pacific Rim doesn't open in theaters until July 12, but the movie's companion book, Pacific Rim: Man, Machines & Monsters, is now out and reveals a sneak peek at the myriad monsters that populate the movie. Watch the intro by Guillermo in the above video...
"We are trying to show you the thought process that came into the designing of the monsters, the Jaegers and the world that they need to inhabit for the movie to come alive," says the director about the in-depth tome published by Insight Editions.
Featuring interviews, anecdotes, cool concept art and plenty of stills from the final movie and behind the scenes, what makes the book extra cool for fans is the removable artwork/inserts -- I.D. badges, Jaeger stickers, production notes reproductions, "propaganda"-style posters and much more -- a staple of many of the interactive Insight Editions books.
At 156 pages with 16 pages of inserts, Pacific Rim: Man, Machines & Monsters was written by David Cohen with a foreword by Guillermo del Toro. Sift through the book in the video below...
