In the third installment of the sci-fi franchise, Riddick goes up against a group of bloodthirsty mercenaries and even more bloodthirsty alien predators. Since the movie opens with Riddick in isolation, Diesel spent a couple months by himself in the woods leading up to shooting in order to better understand his character's journey.
"He's kind of a dark character," Diesel explained during Comic-Con. "To play that character you have to sometimes go to a dark place."
It's been nine years since Diesel stepped into the shoes of the skilled criminal, and he can't wait to see what his faithful fans think of flick.
"I'm excited for people to revisit this mythology and to reunite the audience with Riddick," Diesel gushed.
