Jason Statham, James Franco, Kate Bosworth and Winona Ryder all take on slightly different roles than we're used to seeing them in for the gritty action-thriller Homefront, in theaters November 27, and ET was with the stars at their big premiere at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.

"Totally challenging? Yeah, that's sort of why I did it," said Winona. "Because it was something that I had never done, and I never really expected to get offered that type of role, and this genre of movie is very new for me, so it was fun and it was great to try something that I hadn't really tried before, you know?"

Written by Sylvester Stallone and Chuck Logan (Sly recruited Jason to star in the film on the set of TheExpendables 2), Homefront stars Jason as Phil Broker, a family man who moves off the grid with his daughter (played by Izabela Vidovic) to a seemingly quiet bayou backwater to escape his troubled past. But when Broker's daughter gets involved in a playground scuffle with a bully at school, the boy's meth-addict mother (played by Bosworth) recruits her drug kingpin brother Gator (Franco) to rattle the Broker cage, forcing Broker back into action in order to save his family from Gator, his desperate girlfriend (Ryder) and a gang of deadly bikers.

Directed by Gary Fleder (Runaway Jury), Homefront also stars Clancy Brown, Frank Grillo and Rachelle Lefevre.
