5 Things You Don't Know About Chris Pine

We just got our first look at the movie poster for his new action thriller Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, in which he portrays the titular CIA analyst who discovers a Russian terrorist plot to devastate the U.S. economy. Here are five things you probably don't know about Chris Pine.

1. He's the son of veteran TV actor Robert Pine, who is best known for playing Sgt. Joseph Getraer on the hit '70s series CHiPs.

2. Holds a Bachelor's degree in English from the University of California, Berkeley. In addition, he studied abroad for a year at the University of Leeds in the U.K.

3. His first acting job came in 2003 on the medical drama ER, on which he played a drunk hospital patient.

4. On the first day of shooting on the set of Star Trek, he accidentally broke a stuntman's nose. "Do not hurt stuntmen because they will pay you back in kind!" he told People magazine.

5. Was considered for the lead role in 2010's TRON: Legacy that ended up going to Garrett Hedlund.
