What Can't Melissa McCarthy Do?
Melissa McCarthy is something else! She's a multi-talented actor who can play comedy like nobody's business, while at the same time she can hit the dramatic notes that bring some of her characters into a sad sort of reality.
She was nominated for an Oscar for her role in Bridesmaids – and it’s not easy getting and Oscar nom for a comedy performance – and with her new film Tammy, she's proven she's got some writing chops as well.
Tammy, which stars McCarthy as the title character, follows a down-on-her-luck fast-food employee who, after getting fired from her job and discovering that her husband has been cheating on her with her neighbor, decides to hit the road with her drunken, foul-mouthed grandmother – played by Susan Sarandon.

It marks the first feature film McCarthy has written, and she co-wrote it with her husband of nine years Ben Falcone, who also directed the film. Together, they produced the movie as well.
And, on top of all of this, McCarthy is also starting her own clothing line for plus-sized women.
So, it begs the question: Is there anything Melissa McCarthy can't do?
"No! She can do everything," answered McCarthy's Tammy co-host Susan Sarandon. "She can fly, also. She speaks seven languages. She can walk a tight rope, you should ask her about that."

We don't know if the Thelma & Louise star was kidding, but we sure would love to see McCarthy incorporate some of that acrobatic talent into her upcoming projects. Perhaps in the possible The Heat 2?
