JJ Abrams unveiled the starfighter in a new promo for his 'Force for Change' initiative.

Fanboys and girls, gather 'round: we've got a new sneak peek at Star Wars: Episode VII.

Director JJ Abrams is giving fans a first look at the X-Wing starfighter that will appear in the film in a new promo for his "Force for Change" initiative. The teaser gives a full look at the new version of the spacecraft we all remember from George Lucas' original trilogy.

PICS: Who Got Hired in Hollywood?

This is the second video Abrams has revealed from the Star Wars set. In the first, he showed us a creature from Tatooine – the desert home planet of Anakin and Luke Skywalker.

Both videos are in support of Disney, Lucasfilm and Bad Robot's "Star Wars: Force for Change" campaign, benefiting UNICEF Innovation Labs and Programs. The project was launched back in May via Omaze and pulled in $1 million within its first 24 hours. "Force for Change" asks individuals to donate at least $10 to enter for a chance to win a trip to London as Abrams' guest on the Episode VII set and appear in a scene of the film. A second top prize has now been added: an advanced screening of the movie in the winner's hometown for 20 of their friends.

Fans only have a few days left to donate. The fundraiser ends on Friday.

But we still have quite a wait ahead of us before Episode VII hits theaters. The film is set to open on December 18, 2015.

The teaser comes just one day after leaked plot details emerged online, getting fans all hot and bothered. We won't spoil too much here, but there could possibly, maybe, reportedly be a severed hand and a lightsaber involved. More on that over at BadassDigest.com.
