14-Year-Old Michelle Williams is Adorable on the Set of 'Lassie'

ETONLINE

ET looks back at our interview with the talented actress on the set of her first movie role in 1994.

It's been 20 years since Michelle Williams' debut on the big screen in the 1994 retelling of Lassie. ET was with the cast on location in rural Virginia, where we caught up with the young starlet in her first movie role. As if we needed this moment to be any more adorable, Michelle plays with a puppy (yes, a puppy!) as she tells us about her portrayal of female lead, April Porter.

"The main boy, his name is Matt. I play pretty much his girlfriend," she says of her role, "I befriend him when no one else really talks to him, and we become pretty good friends."

What a cutie, that Michelle. Fortunately for us, this was only the beginning of her rise to stardom. Just four years later, Michelle landed the role of Jen Lindley on the teen television drama, Dawson's Creek. In 2005, she snagged an Oscar nomination for her performance as Alma in Brokeback Mountain. Three years later, she won a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in My Week with Marilyn. Her next film, a romantic war drama titled Suite Francaise, is due out late 2014.
