The 'Baywatch' Movie Is Happening and It's Starring The Rock
Where once The Hoff ruled the Los Angeles beaches, The Rock will now take over. Who needs mouth to mouth?
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson confirmed via Instagram on Thursday, Oct. 2, that he will star in the new Baywatch movie. The action star wrote: "'This is my beach b**ch!' Rumors are true... we're making #BAYWATCH the movie. Edgy, raunchy and hopefully, funny as all hell. Cue slo mo running on the beach... #WhoNeedsMouthToMouth #RedShortsBeHugginABrotha."

Paramount is moving forward with the beloved TV show becoming a big-screen adaption, and, according to The Hollywood Reporter, they've hired Justin Malen to re-write the script while Sean Anders and John Morris (Horrible Bosses 2, We're the Millers) are set to direct.
The Baywatch movie story line is still unknown but at one point it was "set to revolve around a series of shark attacks that lead the Baywatch team to investigate a drug-smuggling operation."

Baywatch the TV show-- an action drama about the lifeguards who patrol the beaches of Los Angeles County-- aired from 1991 to 2001, and over the years starred Pamela Anderson, David Hasselhoff, David Charvet, Carmen Electra, Yasmine Bleeth and Jeremy Jackson ...to name a few.
