First ET Interview: Daniel Radcliffe

By

With his new role in the creepy The Woman in Black, Daniel Radcliffe has officially graduated from his Harry Potter duties at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In celebration, we're flashing back to Daniel's first one-on-one ET interview in 2001!

At just 12 years old, the normally bright-eyed Daniel seemed a bit weary from the marathon-length press junket interviews, but he managed to muster some genuinely boyish enthusiasm in talking about his first Harry Potter movie, the start of a new life adventure -- and being on the verge of worldwide fame.

What Scares Daniel Radcliffe?

"The best thing I can do is enjoy it, because there are so many worse things happening in the world," Daniel told ET about the celebrity attached to one of the most coveted roles of all time. "So it's just stupid and quite selfish to worry about being recognized."

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone debuted to huge box office numbers, paving the way for a total of 8 movies, allowing Daniel to grow up onscreen before our very eyes. Of course, there was no way that Daniel could know how successful the Harry Potter franchise would be – beating out both James Bond and Star Wars to the tune of $7.7 billion.

"I'm just going to try to take it one film at a time," said a precocious Daniel. "If I'm still enjoying it as much as I am now, I'll do as many as they want me to."
