WATCH: Crowd Surge Causes Scuffle at Justin Bieber Event

Justin Bieber's posse felt the repercussions of Bieber Fever in New York City when a scuffle broke out and one of the pop singer's security guards had a quick brush with local law enforcement.

Bieber and his "associates" were greeting fans Thursday outside of Macy's when the crowd surged and NYPD officers, who had made accommodations for Bieber to safely interact with the crowd, intervened to remove the singer and his security guards.

After Bieber was safely inside, one of Bieber's personal security guards was given a summons for disorderly conduct after refusing to move from a doorway. The guard was released shortly thereafter at the scene.

Publicist Melissa Victor gave a statement to the Associated Press, saying, "This was a momentary, well-intentioned misunderstanding that was quickly resolved, and the event went very well."

Bieber has been in New York promoting his new fragrance for women "Someday," in stores now.
