Just when you thought Justin Timberlake put down the microphone for good, the singer-turned-actor pulls an ace from up his sleeve when he sparked a surprise show at his Southern Hospitality restaurant in New York City last night.

Hours before, the singer spread the word of his spontaneous set through his Twitter account. "NYC!!! Wanna check out some live music tonight?? Meet me and @freesol at 45th & 9th at 11pm. #bbqnyc #youdontwanttomissthis," Timberlake tweeted.

Timberlake and FreeSol, the Memphis band singed under his Tenman Records imprint, gave an impromptu performance at his NYC eatery amidst an exuberant crowd that included fans from outside who clamored to get a closer look. Even stars like Amanda Seyfried and newlywedsKim Kardashian and Kris Humphries were on hand to witness the exciting event.

During the set, the singer performed one of his last recent hits, "What Goes Around… Comes Around," which immediately garnered a sing-along from the packed house. "Thanks for the help," the In Time actor said towards the end. 'It's been a long time."

Timberlake and FreeSol's free show run doesn't end just yet as they prepare for another performance tonight in NYC's Irving Plaza. The event is being labeled National 901 Day to commemorate Timberlake's tequila endeavor and his and FreeSol's hometown area code.
