Carly Rae Jepsen on How 'Call Me Maybe' Came to Be

The whirlwind of fan frenzy surrounding Carly Rae Jepsen blew into the windy city last week, and while she was there the Canadian singer took time out to tell the story behind Call Me Maybe and revealed her celebrity crush.

Jepsen, 26, revealed that she co-wrote the lyrics to live vicariously through her own song.

"I think I've been always the shy type in love," said Jepsen, who collaborated with Tavish Crowe and Josh Ramsay in making the smash single. "I've never really asked a guy for his number in that way."

Now, as a full-fledged celebrity, Jepsen could legitimately get the number of any of her celebrity crushes. Although she probably won't be calling him up any time soon, Jepsen did admit that there is one guy she would like to meet.

"I would love to actually see, face-to-face, John Mayer," Jepsen said. "I have a big crush on him."

Jepsen was visiting Chicago to perform in a free concert for teens as a part of Kellogg's Pop-Tarts Crazy Good Summer campaign.
