After a scuffle outside a West Hollywood studio that reportedly led to Chris Brown punching Frank Ocean in the face, the Grammy nominee announced on Saturday night that he will not be taking legal action.

"As a child I thought if someone jumped me it would result in me murdering or mutilating a man," Ocean, 25, wrote on his Tumblr. "But as a man I am not a killer. I'm an artist and a modern person. I'll choose sanity."

He goes on to write: "No criminal charges. no civil lawsuit. Forgiveness, albeit difficult, is wisdom. Peace, albeit trite, is what I want in my short life. Peace."

This past week, police told ET that deputies were called out to Westlake Studio in Los Angeles following a fight between six males. According to witnesses, the brawl broke out between Brown and the victim over a parking space, leading to the 23-year-old singer throwing a punch. Brown left the premises before the cops showed up.

As we all know, this isn't the singer's first brush with the law. He was found guilty of assault after a 2009 domestic argument that got physical between him and then girlfriend Rihanna. Then just last year, a fight broke out at a New York City nightclub between Brown's posse and rapper Drake's group of guys.
