Mumford & Sons Bassist Has Blood Clot On Brain

Mumford & Sons has canceled three headlining concerts while bassist Ted Dwane undergoes surgery to remove a blood clot in his brain.

According the band's official site, Dwane had not been feeling well for a few days and was taken to the hospital, where scans revealed that he had a blood clot on the surface of his brain that will need to be removed. The statement posted on Tuesday reads: "Ted is receiving excellent care and we are being assured that he will recover quickly from surgery."

The band's shows in Texas (Dallas and The Woodlands) and New Orleans, La., will be postponed to later dates. The concerts had all been sold out, as the group performs behind the 2012 Grammy-winning album,Babel. Mumford & Sons said all performances will be rescheduled "and announced as quickly as we can."
