Demi Lovato Comments on the Death of Her Father
Demi Lovato has acknowledged the death of her father in a Twitter message and thanked her fans for their support.
"I feel so humbled to have had so much support from my fans, friends, family and complete strangers... God bless you all, thank you so much," the X Factor judge wrote Sunday on her Twitter page.
A rep for the singer confirmed to Us Weekly that Patrick Lovato -- from whom she had been estranged -- had passed away after a battle with cancer. Lovato reportedly did not attend X Factor auditions over the weekend as she mourned her father.
Lovato's father split from her mother Dianna in 1994 and the 20-year-old singer had been estranged from him since 2007, according to Us Weekly.
