Krewella's Freshman Album Inspired by Fans

Since the release of breakthrough single Alive, Krewella has enjoyed some serious crossover success. The EDM (electronic dance music) trio, which is made up of Jahan Yousaf, Yasmine Yousaf and Rain Man, are currently wrapping up a 127-city tour in support of their first full-length album, Get Wet.

The record, which debuted at No. 1 on the Top Dance/Electronica Albums chart last month, and No. 8 on the Billboard 200, is a love letter to the group's fans.

"When we think back to writing the album there are so many tracks...that were literally inspired by the events of meeting fans, stories they told us, things that they have gone through, that our music has helped them through," Yasmine explains. "We literally wrote all our songs about them, for them, about their stories."

The end result is music that goes beyond killer beats and epic bass drops. The foundation for Krewella's tracks is their songwriting, something the group took to task for this record.
