Jared Leto has the world on a string this week: On Sunday, he won the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for his work in Dallas Buyers Club, and today his band 30 Seconds to Mars announced a major summer tour, joining forces with Linkin Park and a special guest! ET's Rocsi Diaz got Jared and brother Shannon's take on the big news after their live, multi-media press conference with Chester Bennington and Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park. Watch the backstage video!
Jared says that The Carnivores Tour "is going to be the adventure of a lifetime." Kicking off August 8 in West Palm Beach, FL at the Cruzan Amphitheatre, the tour, sponsored in-part by Infinity and promoted by Live Nation, will hit 25 cities in every part of the country and will include three shows in Canada. Joining 30 Seconds to Mars and Linkin Park will be special guest AFI.
The three multi-platinum bands will bring an unforgettable night of music featuring some of the biggest rock and alternative radio hits from the past decade, and Shinoda explained of the unusual name of the tour, "Carnivores is a metaphor that is meant to convey an appetite for something visceral and substantive, and I feel that’s exactly the hunger this tour will feed."
Tickets for The Carnivores Tour will go on sale beginning Friday, March 7 at www.livenation.com and the band's websites, and members of the 30 Seconds to Mars and Linkin Park fan clubs can take part in an exclusive presales today at 5 p.m. PST respectively.
