Lorde Releases New Single From 'The Hunger Games'

It was announced earlier this year that New Zealand singer-songwriter Lorde was being tasking with curating the soundtrack to the hotly anticipated The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1. Now, she's released the first original song for the film, and it's amazing.

The single, 'Yellow Flicker Beat', is the same sort of beautiful, soul-searching tune we've come to expect from the 17-year-old songstress, but with a strong, compounding build-up that perfectly mirrors the story's evocative themes of revolution and power.

The song starts slow, lingering on key phrases, before building rapidly into an explosive, thrusting chorus of chaos and energy.

'Yellow Flicker Beat' is set to be the film's lead song, and has the potential to take the world by storm, much like Adele's 2012 Bond song 'Skyfall'.
