"It was like one of the first [songs] I actually chose to record," Clarkson told Ryan Seacrest on his Monday morning radio show. "My music definitely reflects how I'm feeling in my life. And so, I liked that it was still an anthem, and fun, and still had a little pop to it. But it was sweet … It's pretty much one of the most pop ones on the album. You know, full force for the fans. They love those anthems from me."

Yes, we do, and this one delivers. "Heartbeat Song," produced by Greg Kurstin, is the 32-year-old's first new pop single since "Catch My Breath," "Don't Rush" and "People Like Us" were featured on her Greatest Hits – Chapter One compilation album back in 2012.

"My fans are like, 'You haven't released anything in forever!'" she told Seacrest. "I'm like, 'I was pregnant! I was like, vomiting pregnant!'"

As if we need to remind you, Clarkson gave birth to daughter River Rose in June of 2014 and has since gifted fans with an endless stream of adorable baby pics on Instagram. In her latest post on Sunday night, River is hard at work as momma's "new producer."

River also starred in a too-cute-for-words clip previewing Clarkson's new single.

Believe it or not, River played a crucial role in Clarkson's new single. Speaking with Elvis Duran on the Z100 Morning Show, Clarkson revealed that the song's beat is "River's heartbeat slowed down from when she was in my tummy!... We put it out there and then thought people are going to think I'm a coke addict! It's supposed to be really, really fast, but we slowed it down a bit."

Clarkson also told Duran that her next album, Piece By Piece, is expected to hit shelves in early March. "We actually have a tour planed and in the works, starting in the summer of 2015!"

Speaking with Seacrest, Clarkson teased a reunion collaboration that will be featured on the album. "He is super talented and we've worked together before," she said. "The song is really cool as well. I got this song and it was actually written as a solo, and I was like 'It would be so much darker if it was a duet.'"

Clarkson last teamed with Ronnie Dunne for "Baby
It's Cold Outside" on her Christmas album Wrapped in Red, but has previously recorded with male artists Blake Shelton, Vince Gill, Jason Aldean, Robbie Williams, Jeff Beck and her Idol runner-up Justin Guarini. Our hope: Clarkson could be re-teaming with Ryan
Tedder
, with whom she co-wrote several tracks on her 2009 effort All I
Ever Wanted
. Who do you think Clarkson joined forces with on her new
album?
