Ryan Adams' 1989 cover album is starting to take shape.

The 40-year-old indie singer/songwriter previewed his rendition of Taylor Swift's "Wildest Dreams," and it sounds super different from the original version.

In fact, the whole project seems to have a different vibe than Swift's 1989. Just listen to Adams' preview of "Bad Blood":

He also gives a new feel to "All You Had To Do Was Stay":

And you've never heard "Shake It Off" performed like this before:

Adams has also promised that his cover of "Welcome to New York" will be the "saddest version ever."

Swift herself seems to be a fan of the project. Upon hearing what Adams was doing with her songs, she tweeted: "Cool I'm not gonna be able to sleep tonight or ever again and I'm going to celebrate today every year as a holiday. I'M CALM."

This obviously isn't the first time an artist has covered a Swift song. In 2014, it seemed like almost everyone did a rendition of her hit "Shake It Off." Check it out:
