Drake Teases Return to Acting, Says He 'Got High for the First Time' Right Before His 'Degrassi' Audition
Drake's ready to get back in front of the camera!
The "One Dance" rapper, who cut his teeth in the industry by playing "Jimmy" on the Canadian teen drama, Degrassi, recently opened up on the Cal Cast with University of Kentucky basketball coach John Calipari about making his return to acting.

"Acting is another thing that I just can't wait to really dive into," the 30-year-old artist shared. "After I release More Life, which is this playlist that I'm working on, and finish this tour, I think I'm gonna really start to position myself in the acting world, and hopefully take some great roles."
That's something we like to hear! And given Drake's success in the meme-able music video world, hopefully some of those roles will include a bit of song and dance!
During the discussion, Drake also talked about how he got onto Degrassi, confessing that before his audition for the show, he smoked weed.
"I think my first season of Degrassi I was 15 or 16 ... I did something very stupid, which I made sure I never did again," Drake said. "A couple hours before my audition for Degrassi, I got high for the first time. Stupidly enough, I had to go do my first audition ever, so out of it."

"I was in tears. I thought I threw my whole life away just to be cool. Just to fit in," he continued. "Lucky enough, I was gifted a callback to come audition ... From that moment, I take everything I do seriously."
