Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have revealed the names of their newborn twins!
The little boy and girl, who were born Saturday morning in Los Angeles, are named Moroccan Scott Cannon and Monroe Cannon, respectively, according to CNN.
CNN explains the origins of the names: The top level of Mariah's Manhattan apartment is called the Moroccan Room, filled with Moroccan-inspired décor, and it's where Nick proposed to her. Scott is Nick's grandmother's maiden name as well as his middle name.
Monroe is named after none other than Marilyn Monroe, and the Hollywood legend has been a great inspiration to Mariah, who even owns a white piano that once belonged to the icon (and plans to one day go to the Smithsonian Institution). Monroe Cannon has no middle name because Mariah herself does not have one.
Mariah's rep, Cindi Berger, tells CNN, "It has been a long, emotional journey for this family, and I couldn't be happier for all of them."
