Justin Timberlake Switches 'Social Networks' in Venture with Myspace

In a case of life imitating art, 'The Social Network' star Justin Timberlake will become a significant part of the social networking site Myspace, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The website currently being pummeled by competitor Facebook is undergoing an identity change as its new owner, Specific Media, tries to take the company in a new direction.

Ironically, Justin played Sean Parker in 'The Social Network,' one of the people responsible for Facebook's initial success.

In spite of his on-screen affiliation with the rival site, Justin does seem to be a good fit for Myspace, which THR reports is putting its focus more towards music.

"There's a need for a place where fans can go to interact with their favorite entertainers, listen to music, watch videos, share and discover cool stuff and just connect," said Justin. "Myspace has the potential to be that place. Art is inspired by people and vice versa, so there's a natural social component to entertainment. I'm excited to help revitalize Myspace by using its social media platform to bring artists and fans together in one community."
