Johnny Depp to play Dr. Seuss?

Add beloved children's author and illustrator Dr. Seuss to the list of iconic roles Johnny Depp will forever be associated with. Depp has signed on to produce a film based on the iconic Dr. Seuss' life -- and will potentially star as the iconic author himself.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Depp will serve as a producer to Illumination Entertainment and Infinitum Nihil's live-action movie about the life of Theodor Geisel, aka Dr. Seuss. Geisel is the creator of such classics as The Cat in the Hat and Green Eggs and Ham, with his books having sold more than 200 million copies worldwide.

Given Depp's notorious dedication to his film roles, all signs point to him being the likely choice to play the larger than life author.
