Ex Weezer bass player Mikey Welsh -- who was found dead inside a Chicago hotel Saturday of an apparent drug overdose -- made a haunting prediction of his own death in a Twitter message two weeks ago.

In a tweet posted on September 26, the musician wrote: "Dreamt I died in chicago next weekend (heart attack in my sleep). Need to write my will today." A short time later, he amended the first tweet: "Correction - the weekend after next."

Welsh, 40, was discovered Saturday in his room by staff at Chicago's Raffaello Hotel and police said prescription drugs and a bag suspected to contain heroin were found nearby, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Weezer mourned the band's former bassist on its Twitter page: "We are shocked and deeply saddened to hear the awful news, our friend and fellow weez rocker @mikeywelsh71 has passed away. We love u Mikey." Welsh began performing with Weezer in 1998 and split with the group in 2001.
