A big congrats is definitely in order! American Idol's youngest and most recent winner Scotty McCreery has made history with his debut album, Clear as Day, reaching No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 197,000 sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Impressively, at the age of 18, McCreery is the youngest man to open at the top of the chart with a debut album and he is also the first country act to debut at No. 1 with a freshman studio album.

In addition to his other musical feats , McCreery, who just recently turned 18 on Oct. 9, is also the first Idol winner to debut at No. 1 since Ruben Studdard’s first studio album, Soulful, in 2003. Previously, the first Idol champ Kelly Clarkson album, Thankful, shot out of the gate to No. 1 on May 3, 2003 with 297,000 albums sold.

Scotty’s album also marks the biggest debut sales week of any Idol winner's first album since David Cook's 2008, self-titled album started with 280,000 at No. 3.
