UPDATE: Miley's rep has told ETonline, "It was a joke. It's all been taken out of context. The cake was a joke and Miley's response was intended to be sarcastic."

Kelly Osbourne took to her Twitter page on Sunday, defending a joke that her friend Miley Cyrus made at her birthday party that has been interpreted as a "pothead" confession.

"U guys if Miley Cyrus is not recording/filming/touring she works everyday. How could she possibly do all that if she was a stoner!" Osbourne tweeted.

Osbourne's twitter tirade was in response to the controversy surrounding a comment that Cyrus made in a video obtained by The Daily.

"You know you're a stoner when your friends make you a Bob Marley cake," Cyrus joked.

The footage is reportedly from Cyrus' birthday party last week at Beacher's Madhouse at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. The singer/actress turned 19 on November 23.

"I thought salvia was your problem, Miley," Osbourne joked back, referencing a video from Cyrus' birthday last year which depicts her smoking what she later claimed to be salvia -- a legal herb in California.

Osbourne further clarified the comments made in the video, tweeting, "Let me make something very clear, after Miley's salvia incident we started calling her Bob Miley as a JOKE! The cake was also a JOKE! It makes me sick that Miley's so called 'friends' would sell her out and lead people to believe she is someone that she is not!"
