Chaz Bono Saving Up For Sex Change Operation

Chaz Bono is saving up for a top notch sex change operation, he recently revealed in a new interview with Rolling Stone, out January 19th.

Bono likens the different ways to do the surgery to getting a car -- there's "real basic" and then "more and more options" -- which is why he's been studying his finances to get the option that he wants.

"The doctor I want to use is in Belgrade. It's going to be a little cheaper there. Probably $25,000, maybe $45,000, I really don't know," he says.

Bono has been opening up more to the media as of late, telling People in a new interview that after breaking up with girlfriend of six years Jennifer Elia and calling off their engagement in December, he's ready to hit the dating scene again -- and he's using his Dancing with the Stars experience to his advantage.

"What a great skill: to be able to take a woman dancing ... and actually know what you're doing!," Bono tells People. "I really want to start dancing again."

He also clarifies that despite not yet undergoing a sex change operation, he feels "100% male."

"People focus on what's between your legs," says Bono. "If I never have bottom surgery [the procedure by which a penis is created], I'm fine. I feel 100 percent male as I am."
