Country music star Randy Travis was arrested Monday morning in a Dallas suburb on suspicion of public intoxication.

According to the police report obtained by ET, officers discovered Travis sitting in a parked car in front of a church with an open wine bottle in the vehicle. Travis owns a ranch nearby in an area north of Dallas.

The singer -- who police said was slurring his speech and stumbling when trying to walk -- was booked into the county jail at 1:30 a.m. Monday and released a few hours later. He is expected to face a public intoxication charge, a class C misdemeanor.

Travis split from his manager/wife Elizabeth "Lib" Travis in October 2010 after 19 years of marriage.
