This week in news brought the tragic passing of music legend Whitney Houston. One week ago today,  Whitney was discovered unresponsive in the bathtub of her Beverly Hilton hotel room. There were reports of Houston drinking heavily the week she died, however results of the singer's autopsy will not be made public for weeks. Whitney's funeral will be broadcast live this afternoon from the New Hope Baptist Church in New Jersey, where Houston sang as a child. Tyler Perry, Kevin Costner, Aretha Franklin, Clive Davis, Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys, Dionne Warwick, Mariah Carey and Cece Winans are expected to attend.

Beyonce & Jay-Z shared the very first photosof their daughter, Blue Ivy Carter with the world on her brand-new website Friday, February 16. Blue's Tumblr account features five pictures of the newborn and her proud parents with a handwritten message inviting fans to "share in our joy."

Hugh Hefner's son Marston was arrested last Sunday in Pasadena under suspicion of battery against girlfriend, Playmate Claire Sinclair. Although the Playboy mogul issued a statement shortly after the incident, Hugh recently took to Twitter to convey his displeasure with Marston's actions, telling his followers he's "really disappointed" in his son Marston's behavior and offered his support to Claire. The tweet has since been deleted from his timeline.

It has been announced that Meryl Streep will play mother to Julia Roberts in a film adaptation of the play August: Osage County. Roberts will play the role of Violet's eldest daughter, Barbara, who is working to save her marriage with her husband, Bill. This will be the first film in which the two actresses will appear on the big screen together.
