Rumer's mother, Demi Moore, checked into an addiction treatment center at an undisclosed location last month, but Rumer seems grateful for the example that Demi has set for her professionally.
"[My parents] remind me what [I] want to do and what's the purpose of what [I] want to do," said Rumer, who was hosting the MIFF red carpet premiere of her film The Diary of Preston Plummer. "To me at least there's a big difference between being famous and being an actor ... [I would] hope to just really be able to connect and change people through the work that [I] do."
