The actor/musician performed in his role of revolutionary figure Che Guevara in front of a packed house during the show's first preview ahead of the official April 5 opening at New York's Marquis Theatre. The pop sensation last performed on Broadway in the 1996 production of Les Miserables.
Martin said his new Broadway assignment has been a "beautiful journey" and he feels lucky to be surrounded on the stage with so many talented performers. "I'm here to learn, I'm here to grow and and it's been a fascinating trip."
Martin -- who is raising twin boys as a single dad -- said he's made time for his fatherly duties even with his rigorous rehearsal and performance schedule. "We've been able to manage time in a very beautiful and
excellent way. And they go to sleep a little later than usually when
kids go to sleep. They sleep with me, they come and have lunch with me,
they come and visit us in the theater, and it's been great."
