Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling is going political with her next novel titled, The Casual Vacancy. Her publishing company, Little Brown, described the novel as a "blackly comic, thought-provoking and constantly surprising."
Behind the Scenes of the Final Harry Potter
The book digs deep into a small English town called Pagford, where a parish council election takes place due to the death of a council member Barry Fairweather. His death sends the citizens into the "biggest war the town has yet seen," as an election, that is "fraught with passion, duplicity, and unexpected revelations" unfolds.

According to publisher's website, "Pagfod is, seemingly, an English idyll, with a cobbled market square and an ancient abbey, but what lies behind the pretty facade is a town at war. Rich at war with poor, teenagers at war with their parents, wives at war with their husbands, teachers at war with their pupils ... Pagford is not what it first seems."
If the plot has peaked your interest, The Casual Vacancy will be release worldwide September 27.
