Joey Lawrence Strips Down for Chippendales

Joey Lawrence made some headlines in May when he decided to join Chippendales for a three-week stint at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, and ET caught up with the beloved Blossom actor after his highly anticipated opening night this weekend.

The 36-year-old actor is currently in unbelievable shape to rock the trademark Chippendales shirtless-with-a-bow-tie look, and he shares that fitness has always been an integral part of his career.

"Staying in shape is kind of my job anyway. I think it's important. It certainly has been part of my life since I was a kid, you know, being an athlete and stuff," he says. "I didn't do anything special for the Chippendales show except maybe the one or two cheats that I let myself get away with, I cut in half."

And just what are his cheats?

"Pizza and chocolate chip cookies, and a milkshake every now and then," he admits.

Lawrence also admits that the upcoming Magic Mike, featuring Channing Tatum, Matthew McConaughey, Mat Bomer, Alex Pettyfer and Joe Mangianello as male strippers, did have an influence on his own strip show.

"I think the whole male revue thing's coming back. Actually a lot of actors did that before even acting," he says, referencing Tatum's well-known stripper past. "Why not, man? It's harmless. People are having a great time, we're having a good time up there ... I mean, it's all about that. Life is short. Sometimes you gotta just throw caution to the wind and do something crazy."
