Kathie Lee Gifford is backing up a report that Taylor Swift crashed a Kennedy wedding Saturday, despite Taylor's publicist's denial.

According to the mother of the bride herself, Victoria Kennedy, Taylor's boyfriend Conor Kennedy was indeed invited to the wedding of Kyle Kennedy (Conor's cousin) but never RSVP'd. The mother then received a text an hour before the wedding from Conor, asking if he and Swift could attend the reception. Not wanting the celebrity couple to detract from her daughter's big day, she declined.

"They texted me an hour before the wedding and asked if they could come," Victoria Kennedy tells The Boston Herald. "I responded with a very clear, 'Please do not come.' They came anyway. ... I personally went up to Ms. Swift, whose entrance distracted the entire event, politely introduced myself to her, and asked her as nicely as I could to leave. It was like talking to a ghost. She seemed to look right past me."

"The truth is, because I was there, Vicki's account is accurate," Gifford, who is Kyle's grandmother by marriage, said on the Today show this morning. She then confirmed that the young couple were asked to leave "twice." She spotted Taylor "in the hallway, waiting around," but said she wasn't sure if Taylor "didn't know she was not invited."

Gifford also empathized with Victoria Kennedy.

"It's the bride's day, and that was Vicki's other concern," she explains. "'This is my daughter's day and I would appreciate it if you would not come.'"

Taylor's publicist however, is offering up a completely different version of the event.

"Taylor was invited to the wedding and the bride thanked her profusely for being there," her publicist countered to The Boston Herald.
