It's been a challenging year for LeAnn Rimes. Soon after her first stage performance since leaving rehab, the singer wound up in the emergency room after contracting a 'massive infection.'

"I feel like I got hit in my right side of my face with a baseball bat :( NOT a good feeling when I am getting on a plane," tweeted Rimes, who missed a scheduled show due to her illness. "For all my fans at Wendover last night, the show will be rescheduled, not a canceled show. WORST way ever to kick off a tour.....under anesthesia and a massive infection. Well, onward and upward. It can only get better from here!!! On another note, Happy Saturday."

On Sunday, the singer blogged about her hospitalization, writing, "The ER at 3am, THAT is an interesting place to be. Feeling much better now, thanks to my husband's best friend who's an ER doc. I've been living in a dental nightmare for 10 months. I'm getting back on track though, I hope. I've had too many detours this year due to dental issues. I'm finally in great hands and being well taken care of. Last night was wonderful, performing to help raise money for the Autry Museum and earlier in the day performing a few songs to help raise money for the cats and dogs at living-free.org. Needless to say, I'm resting today. Thank you all for your support and understanding. The last 10 months of pain are hard for me to wrap my head around. I'm sure it's difficult for you all to understand too. Let's just pray I'm on the mend. I'll see you all on the road very soon."
