Gene Simmons Talks 'Boy Crush' for George Clooney

By

When you're a rock star like Gene Simmons, the list of celebrities to fawn over would likely be reserved for an elite few. The KISS band member revealed one name on that list at the Carousel of Hope gala on Saturday in Beverly Hills.

"What do you girls say when you like another girl, but you're straight?" Gene Simmons asked, referring to a "girl crush." "George [Clooney] could be my 'boy crush'," Simmons joked, raising his eyebrows and tilting his sunglasses.

Clooney was honored at the event, which benefitted the Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes.

Barbara Davis, philanthropist and widow of billionaire industrialist Marvin Davis, also gave the Oscar winner high praise, saying that "he uses his celebrity to be the greatest philanthropist that there probably ever was."

"You can't even fault anything about George," said Shannon Tweed. "As much as you wanna criticize movie stars for what they make and do, he gives."

Other notable guests at the event included Cheryl Burke, Carrie Ann Inaba, Carmen Electra, Smokey Robinson and Holly Robinson Peete.
