Awards season is in full swing and in its continual celebration of media that positively portrays the LGBT community, The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) announces the nominations for its 24th Annual Media Awards. Amongst those nominated is singer Frank Ocean.

Ocean, who opened up about his sexuality this past summer in an open letter on his blog that detailed his love for a man, has been hip-hop's recent breakout star after releasing his debut album, Channel Orange.

Joining Ocean in the Outstanding Music Artist category are Adam Lambert, Rufus Wainwright, indie rock band Gossip, and pop group Scissor Sisters.
