Cyndi Lauper: 'Kinky Boots' Preview Night!
Kinky Boots is Broadway bound!
Cyndi Lauper kicked off preview night of the film-turned-musical (which features music and lyrics by the legendary singer/songwriter) on Sunday in NYC alongside its author, Tony winning performer Harvey Fierstein.
The pair, who has been behind the project for quite some time, made their glam departure from the celebrated Al Hirschfeld Theatre after premiering the musical's very first Broadway run.
Kinky Boots, opening officially on April 4, follows aspiring businessman Charlie Price (Stark Sands) who is forced to give up his dreams of living in London and save his family's fledgling shoe factory after his father dies. A disheartened Charlie soon finds inspiration in Lola (Billy Porter), a flamboyant entertainer in need of some unconventional footwear.
