Asner Talks Good & Bad Days of 'Tyler Moore Show'
In light of Valerie Harper's cancer diagnosis, her Mary Tyler Moore Show co-star Ed Asner opened up to Rob Marciano about the ups and downs of working with Harper.
"Valerie and I had our differences," said Asner, 83, who admitted to feeling a tinge of jealousy over Harper's popularity. "I think our egos were competing with each other."
The two were able to put their differences aside for most of the show, facilitating a fun environment that Asner remembers fondly.
"The name of the show should've been 'Happy Days and Happy Nights,'" said Asner. "It was a trip to Disneyland. It was all fun and games."
At 73-years-old, Harper has been given just three months to live, according to her doctor's diagnosis, but Asner expects that she will maintain her vivacity till her last breath.

"Knowing Valerie, she's probably going to do her first parachute jump on the day she's supposed to die," Asner quipped, adding that she's just that kind of person.
Asner also refuses to slow down, as he is currently touring around the country with a one-man show on the life of the 32nd President of the United States Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Watch the video for more.
