Phil Spector's Wife: He Doesn't Belong in Jail

The HBO movie Phil Spector, starring Al Pacino, may be one of the most anticipated TV events of the year, but one person who isn't looking forward to the premiere is the former music producer's wife Rachelle.

PICS: Candid Celeb Sightings

"It's so fictionalized and so bogus," Rachelle says of the upcoming movie.

Rachelle (who became a licensed private investigator to work on her husband's behalf) says that Phil doesn't belong in jail, coming to tears at just the thought of him behind bars.

The couple still spends time together every weekend, and Rachelle knows that he misses the simple pleasures, such as "having the freedom to make a phone call or eat a meal when you choose to or be able to go outside."

Rachelle has also written love letters to her husband during his 19-year-to-life prison sentence, which provided the basis of her upcoming single, PS I Love You, available on iTunes March 18.

"This is my way of saying, 'You know what? This is a sympathetic guy and a human being just like everybody else,'" says Rachelle. "People have lost sight of that."

HBO's Phil Spector is set to premiere Sunday, March 24 at 9 p.m.
