Is Charlie Sheen Lindsay Lohan's Mentor?

By

Lately, wherever Charlie Sheen goes there are expectations that Lindsay Lohan isn't far behind. A stretch of reality for sure, but it was certainly the case on the red carpet premiere of Scary Movie 5. With rumors circling that the infamous duo would be arriving and walking the red carpet together, Charlie Sheen gave his response.

"Why am I so linked to her? Look what $100,000 buys you," he joked.

The chunk of change Sheen makes reference to is the reported amount the Anger Management actor gifted Lohan back in November to help cover her outstanding six-figure tax bill. A grand gesture that came as a result of Lohan and Sheen's budding friendship that commenced when the two began working on Scary Movie 5 back in September 2012. Yet, despite their thriving platonic relationship, Sheen says he is less inclined to have it go beyond that.

"All I did was say she needs a mentor, I didn't say it had to be me. In fact it's not me," Sheen jokes. " If I had to mentor anybody, it would be a train wreck."

Yet, Sheen takes it in stride. With a troubled past of his own, he told ET in an interview in March that he can relate to the actress' struggles and continues to believe in her.

"I root for her because when you're that talented it just doesn't go away. Sometimes your appetites get in the way."

After Sheen's highly publicized fallout with Two and a Half men creator Chuck Lorre and being fired from the show back in 2011, the actor underwent a whirlwind of media attention following his seemingly bizarre behavior. Displaying similarly scrutinized antics after several reported problems on sets of movies and TV shows, Lohan was recently given a second chance by Sheen, who invited her to make a guest appearance on his new show, Anger Management.

"Why are you constantly seen in bed with her?" ET's Rob Marciano jokingly asked Sheen on the red carpet. "Ok, I'm not going to argue with that. It's been documented." Sheen responded.

In the Anger Management episode, which aired April 11, Lohan plays Sheen's jail mate and sleepover buddy, and then again in Scary Movie 5, the two have been seen cuddling in bed in stills.

Yet, the chemistry the two share on screen did not always translate behind the scenes. When Sheen was asked about his experience filming Scary Movie 5 in an interview with Leno on April 10, his reports are lackluster.

"Day one was fabulous. She was on time. Hit every mark. Made us look off our game, which we weren't," Sheen says. "It was as though she had us held hostage because she gave us half the show. No, she had an 'earache' and was a little bit…four hours late. No, she was a couple of hours late. She was really not feeling well. We just worked around it."

However, on the red carpet of Scary Move 5, Sheen and Lohan were seen embracing and posing for pics, even though the Parent Trap star arrived late, reporting wardrobe malfunctions.
