No Settlement Reached in Kim Kardashian Divorce

By

Kim Kardashian attended a settlement conference Friday ahead of her scheduled divorce trial next month against ex-husband Kris Humphries, but no agreement was reached.

The reality star arrived for the hearing -- which was closed to the media -- wearing a light colored print dress with white pants, her hair pulled back in a ponytail. She sat in the jury box with her hands crossed on her lap as the case was called. Humphries did not appear at the courthouse in downtown Los Angeles, but was represented by three attorneys.

Humphries' attorneys declined to comment on Friday's negotiating session, but told reporters that the May 6 trial date still stands. A judge sealed the settlement discussions, but any deal would have been put on the record at the conclusion.

Kardashian had two bodyguards with her as she was escorted by multiple Sheriff's deputies from the building's 2nd floor courtroom to the ground floor exit. She thanked the deputies for helping out during the day and told them she's almost seven months pregnant.

The settlement conference was called ahead of a May 6 trial date to resolve divorce issues between Kardashian and Humphries, who split in October 2011 citing "irreconcilable differences" after a marriage that lasted just 72 days. According to court documents filed April 8, the witness list for the
trial includes the reality star's mother Kris Jenner, Humphries and
various lawyers expected to dissect the ex-couple's prenuptial
agreement.

During the trial, Kardashian is expected to argue the reasons why she believes the marriage should be dissolved and not annulled -- as requested by Humphries -- and present evidence that she "did not defraud (Humphries) into marrying her," according to the recently filed court papers.
