Klum Sets Record Straight on Engagement Rumors

The entertainment world was sent into a frenzy last week when Heidi Klum was spotted wearing a ring given to her by her boyfriend. Amid the speculation of engagement, the former model set the record straight on whether or not she is tying the knot any time soon.

"Uh, no," said Klum with a perplexed look when asked by ET's Brooke Anderson about possible wedding plans at Monday's Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. "Why does everyone think I'm getting married? I'm not getting married, everybody! O.K.? I'm very happy right now."

Klum has said that the ring that she was photographed with was a gift from her boyfriend, bodyguard Martin Kirsten, and nothing more.

The two have been dating since September of last year, nine months after she and her husband of nearly seven years, singer Seal, officially announced their separation.

Immersed in the fashion industry as a model and designer, Monday night's event was a big night for the former German model, who donned an elegant silver dress on the red carpet.

As she was questioned about a potential forthcoming marriage on the press line, Klum had something more basic to focus on: making it through the red carpet without tripping, as the carpet covered a set of stairs that led to the interior of The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

"It's always very hard to manage to get up the stairs without falling—and doing it gracefully," the 39-year-old TV host said. "...It's hard. You're pretending like everything is steady but it's not."
