Ali Lohan: I Definitely Have to Prove Myself

While Lindsay Lohan is readying for rehab, her younger sister Ali Lohan is readying her modeling career. Though the 19-year-old tells Women's Wear Daily that she doesn't want to "ride on any coattails," she does admit that her famous (sometimes infamous) sister has given her some pointers.

"She just says the main thing is to do your best and to do what you love," the younger Lohan told the fashion publication. We're very close and speak very often. Well, the last time we spoke, I guess, was two weeks ago, so kind of often. But yeah, she's awesome."

When asked if she feels a stigma of being "Lindsay Lohan's sister," Ali answered, "I feel like I'm Aliana and I'm just trying to work like every other model. I don't want to be put on any platform. And I don't think that I have been."

Ali seemed unfazed by her sister's latest and sixth stint in rehab, telling WWD, "Yeah, she's in California. Yeah, so she's there and I'm going to be visiting her at the end of the month for some family time."

As for how her sister's fame and falls have affected Ali's outlook on being in the public eye, the aspiring model says she'd like to use her platform for good. "I want to make the most out of the word 'fame.' I want to do good things with my fame, or whatever it is. I want to help and do charity work. ...My grandfather worked with charities his whole entire life, and we grew up living with him. He always told me about the other side of the world and everything that's going on."

Ali adds, "I would just like to be known as my own person. I don't need to ride on any coattails. I just want to make my mark myself. I definitely have to prove myself -- just showing up on time and doing everything that you're supposed to do."
