WHEN: Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. WHERE: Wilshire Ebell Theatre, 4401 West 8th St. Los Angeles, CA 90005 WHAT: The GRAMMY Foundation® will host "A Song Is Born," the 16th Annual GRAMMY Foundation Legacy Concert (formerly the Music Preservation Project), featuring live musical performances and archival footage from its preservation archives. Performers include GRAMMY® winners Steve Cropper, Kris Kristofferson, Barry Mann, Bonnie Raitt, Mike Reid, Jimmy Webb, Cynthia Weil, Joy Willams, Paul Williams, and Dan Wilson; current GRAMMY nominee Gavin DeGraw; and GRAMMY-nominated songwriters Skylar Grey, John Rzeznik, Allen Shamblin, and J.D. Souther, as well as other artists to be announced shortly. The evening's musical director will be Darrell Brown, songwriter/producer and GRAMMY Foundation Board member. Neil Portnow, President/CEO of The Recording Academy® and the GRAMMY Foundation, will be in attendance, along with other prominent music industry leaders and members of The Recording Academy.
